On 3 December 2013 Grafton Baptist Church embraced a new name – The HUB. Since then, The Hub Church has grown to embrace 3 other campus locations; Ocean Shores, Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah. Together we share the vision to be a church that makes a difference in the community. While this looks a little different in each location the heart beat remains the same.

We continue into our future as a faith-filled, vibrant and contemporary Baptist Church – who love people, and believe in empowering them to become all that God created them to be.

Should you feel that The HUB is the spiritual home for you, we would love to meet you and to assist you on that journey.  If you are already connected to our church we encourage you to continue growing in God as we serve our regions with the message of hope, truth and love.

OUR VALUES

FREEDOM

What is Freedom? To a prisoner it’s being released from jail. To a person controlled by fear, it’s being set free from fear. To a victim of abuse from another person, it’s being liberated from their control.

So what is something WE ALL need setting free from?

The Bible says unless we have made Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord we are in slavery to sin. Basically sin (doing our own thing) controls and dictates our life and ultimately separates us from relationship with God.

Jesus overcame sin and death and offers us complete freedom and victory over sin’s power.

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17

STRENGTH

God never breaks a promise! And He has promised everyone who believes and puts their trusts in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord, will be given His Holy Spirit who will live in them forever.

The Holy Spirit is God’s strength (power) within us -

And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.      Romans 8:2

The strength of the Holy Spirit is unlimited and He will never fail us when we trust in Him. He doesn’t make us strong - He is our Strength!

PURPOSE

Is there a purpose to our life? That’s a question often asked.

Do you know God has a purpose for your life? Many people feel like something is missing, like they are forever searching and can feel frustrated. This is true when our life is all about what ‘I’ want and not what God has planned for us.

A life without purpose is an empty existence. But a life dedicated to fulfilling God’s purpose is the most satisfying life ever!

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10

OUR BELIEFS

  • We believe in God, the Creator and Father of all; Jesus, God’s Son, Hope of the World and the head of the Church; and the Holy Spirit, living and working within all believers.

  • We believe in the divine inspiration of Scripture, that it is God’s infallible word bringing life, truth and freedom.

  • We believe that people are created in the image of God, but that all have sinned; Jesus is the only Way, Truth and Life and brings reconciliation between God and people.

  • We believe in the internal work of the Holy Spirit, bringing conviction and transformation as we continue to grow in faith and Christlikeness. He has been sent to help us stand firm in the fight, that is “not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Eph 6:12)

  • We believe in the local church where God’s family comes together to love, encourage and empower one another to fulfil God’s commission of going into all the world.

  • We believe in Jesus Christ’s imminent return and the promise of eternal life for all who repent and believe.

We are affiliated with the Baptist Association of NSW and ACT and as such align with their full statement of faith which can be found on their website.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
