Looking back on my own life God has always provided me a way forward. I knew he was always there as a loving heavenly father, even when it was painful to look to him for direction. I knew when I was going through a challenging journey, he would always provide for me.
1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
When experiencing difficult times and we want to do things in our own will or power we will fail; when we have our eyes fixed on Jesus this is the better way. When we are going through difficult circumstances, the Lord promises to keep us safe; He will be near to us; and He will turn the situation around and help us in to stand firm.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Because God loves us, we can show our faith in Him by sharing all of our thoughts and circumstances with Him through prayer, both good and bad. When we pray and communicate with God we bring forth our real world needs and desires, we are to ask according to faith and not according to what we see happening.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
